Mid-State Composite Squadron 239 of the Civil Air Patrol announces the recent promotions of Cadet Dustin Moskel and Cadet Nick Bloom. Both were promoted to the rank of Cadet Senior Airman. C/SrA Moskel is a 7th grader in the Philipsburg Osceola Area School District and C/SrA Bloom is a 7th grader in the West Branch Area School District. Mid-State Composite Squadron 239 is based at Mid-State Regional Airport near Philipsburg. Weekly meetings rotate through a schedule of drill, leadership, aerospace education, moral leadership, and emergency services training. Civil Air Patrol performs 95 percent of all inland search and rescue missions as assigned by the United States Air Force Rescue Coordination Center. These missions include missing aircraft and missing person searches. Volunteer opportunities exists for cadets, ages 12-18, and for CAP officers, age 18 and above.
